Recommended Use
A salt commonly used in the precipitation of nucleic acids. The presence of 2.5 M NH4OAc
in the precipitation reaction allows ionically bond contaminants to dissociate from the
nucleic acids, allowing pure sample to be recovered.
Ammonium acetate 10M stock solution
Dissolve 385 g of ammonium acetate in 400mL of H2O. Adjust the volume to 500 mL with H2O.
Sterilize by filtration.
Storage
Store at room temperature. Protect from moisture.
Warning
Irritant. Causes irritation to eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. Avoid breathing dust. Do
not take internally. Wash thoroughly with water after handling. See Material Safety Data
